4 Therapy Strategies You May Not Have Heard of Before

When dealing with mental and emotional issues, it can be hard to know where to turn for help. Fortunately, there are therapies available to you with the support and resources necessary for overcoming these challenges. Some therapies may not be as well-known or discussed as frequently. Whether you’re dealing with learning needs, behavioral issues, or mental health, support is out there in many forms.

Animal-Assisted Therapy

Animal-assisted therapy (AAT) uses animals for mental health services to achieve therapeutic goals. This therapy has been proven to reduce stress and anxiety levels, improve moods, increase self-confidence, and promote social skills. AAT can be a great way to connect with an animal while also accessing mental health support.

Dialectical Behavior Therapy

The goal of DBT mental health services is to help individuals make positive changes in their mental health and develop a greater understanding of themselves. Individuals learn to accept themselves and their difficulties with mental illnesses. It teaches strategies to cope with emotions, increase distress tolerance, understand interpersonal conflicts, and develop healthier relationships.

Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing

EMDR is a type of psychotherapy that can help with mental illness, PTSD, and other mental health issues. It involves using eye movement to stimulate the brain, reduce distress, and help process painful experiences.

Music Therapy

Music has shown positive effects on the brain, in both mental and physical health. Music therapy mental health services can help individuals relax, reduce stress levels, improve communication skills, and increase self-esteem. Clients may listen to music, sing, or play instruments to help alleviate mental health issues.

Whatever mental health services you seek, there’s a therapy that can provide the support and resources necessary to help you get back on track. Contact our team today so we can help you with the care you deserve.
