Appalachian Counseling and Psychological Services Incorporated (ACAPS) is a multi-disciplinary practice, based in downtown Asheville, North Carolina providing psychotherapy and psychological evaluations.

We are a rapidly expanding and fast paced clinic. We are currently looking to expand our psych-testing team and our psychotherapy team. Four full-time positions are currently available; competitive salaries are commensurate with credentials and experience. While these positions are full-time, we offer flexibility in your schedule as our practice is open for evening and weekend hours. 

We are looking for highly motivated individuals excited by the opportunity to work as part of a multi-disciplinary team in a rapidly expanding practice.

Current Openings

Outpatient Psychotherapist – Asheville Clinic

Job Duties: Provide psychotherapy services to a full time caseload of patients referred by medical/mental health professionals; consulting and collaborating with other ACAPS psychologists and providers; engaging in group and individual supervision and internal continuing education; supervision of inters/externs. 

Job Requirements: Applicants must have a Master’s or Doctorate in Psychology, Clinical Social Work, or Counseling from an accredited program and possess a valid clinical license in North Carolina in good standing.  Applicants with 2+ years of experience post-licensure are strongly encouraged to apply, as well as applicants with specialized certification and/or dual licensure (EMDR, DBT, LCAS, & etc…)  Applicants must be able to demonstrate a solid knowledge of managing an outpatient generalist caseload and prior experience in a medical setting is appreciated.

Neuropsychologist

Job Duties: Complete comprehensive neuropsychological evaluations for patients referred by neurologists and other medical/mental health professionals; consulting and collaborating with other ACAPS psychologists and providers; supervision of interns/externs.

Job Requirements: Applicants must have a Doctorate in Psychology from an APA-accredited graduate program and have completed an APA-accredited internship with specialized training in neuropsychology; Board certification is highly desired. Early career psychologists are strongly encouraged to apply. Must have NC licensure or be license eligible in NC. Applicants must demonstrate competence evaluating patients with: traumatic brain injuries, dementia, stroke, and other common neurological conditions.

Clinical Psychologist or Psychological Associate

Job Duties: Complete comprehensive psychological evaluations for patients referred by physicians, school systems, mental health professionals, and community stake holders to assess for emotional/behavioral health disorders as well as intellectual/adaptive functioning deficits, consulting and collaborating with other ACAPS psychologists and providers; supervision of interns/externs. Specific job duties will be based on experience and interests. Additionally, there will be opportunity to carry a small therapy caseload if desired.

Job Requirements: Doctorate level applicants must have completed an APA-accredited graduate program and APA-accredited internship. Highly qualified master’s level applicants will also be considered. Applicants must have training and experience administering, scoring, and interpreting psychological testing.
